by guardiansofthepacific

Emailed in by a Sydney-based co-conspirator. We need to do more bottle skulls in shops. Lovely stuff.

Safeway supermarket, Arizona USA

Bottled water in the US costs 50cents? No wonder they sell so much of the bloody stuff! Why any melonheaded Aussie pays $3.00+ for bottled water remains a mystery.
But more lovely stuff from the US of A. Changing hearts and minds at the point of purchase.

Bottle skulls on poles around the giant Coke sign.
Love it… especially because one of our original crew didn’t do it… the gang is growing…

Coke’s massive pollution sculpture, Sydney

by guardiansofthepacific

We were scoping out the new Coke offices in North Sydney.
We noticed a massive sculpture in the lobby.
Looks like two Styrofoam cups with a mess of plastic wires and waste strung between them.
Are they unconsciously processing what their products are doing to the planet?

Art is open to interpretation, right? We get that it’s supposed to be a tin-can phone… but looks like waste in the oceans to us.

Toys R Us, Manchester, New Hampshire

Toys R Us, Bottle Skull
The horrendous irony of selling disposable plastic to kids – teaching them to throw away the future from a very young age.
We salute you again, O Guardian roaming New England!

It might be small, but it’s in the perfect spot – right as they go to purchase.
Top stuff to our American co-conspirators.

Food market, Oahu, Hawaii

Bottled water aisle.
Smack bang in the right place when you read about the ‘case discount’. Genius.
(We salute you again, lone Guardian in Hawaii.)

What we look like (ha ha!)

by guardiansofthepacific

We did a photoshoot for a local newspaper recently. Not all of us could make it, but here’s one of the pics.
And we send a big thanks to the journo who contacted us for helping us to spread the word.
Story can be read here.
